Music ECT – Watford
A forward-thinking Good-rated secondary school in Watford is recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Music ECT to join their Performing Arts team from January. This is a brilliant opportunity for a trainee teacher who wants to grow within a department that is genuinely passionate about high-quality music education.
About the Role
You will teach Music KS3–KS4, working with a well-developed curriculum that balances performance, theory, composition, and musical literacy. Students experience a wide range of musical traditions, and teachers are encouraged to bring their own performance specialisms, instrumental knowledge, and creative ideas into the classroom.
The role includes opportunities to:
Lead or support ensembles (choir, band, instrumental groups)
Assist with seasonal concerts and events
Contribute to the school’s developing music enrichment programme
Integrate music technology into teaching (DAWs, keyboards, digital scoring tools)
As an ECT, you will receive exceptional support, with a personalised induction plan, clear developmental objectives, regular mentor meetings, and access to high-quality training sessions designed to strengthen pedagogical confidence.

Experience & Qualifications
Music degree
PGCE + QTS or completing training
Strong practical musicianship
Passion for inspiring young musicians
Salary
MPS1–MPS2.
