The Role
As an ECT specialising in Mathematics, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with scope to grow into KS5 teaching as your confidence increases. Working with experienced colleagues, you will contribute to department planning, pedagogy, and assessment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering well-structured and curriculum-aligned Maths lessons
Using assessment data to monitor progress and tailor teaching
Creating a positive, purposeful classroom environment
Supporting students through differentiated tasks and interventions
Providing clear feedback and maintaining high expectations
Participating in department meetings, planning, and moderation
Engaging actively in the school’s ECT programme, coaching, and CPD
Contributing to Maths enrichment, competitions, and revision clubs
This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, logical thinking, and helping students build confidence in numeracy.
