Maths ECT – Essex – Ofsted Good Secondary – January 2026 Start

Are you a passionate Maths ECT excited to start your teaching career in a supportive, forward-thinking school? Do you want a department that genuinely invests in your development, with a tailored induction and coaching? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a Maths ECT to join an 11–16 Ofsted Good secondary school in Essex from January 2026. This is a permanent position, ideal for a trainee currently completing their ITT and looking for a secure, nurturing first role.

About the School
The school serves a diverse, welcoming community and is proud of its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral care. The Maths department is well-resourced and collaborative, with a track record of supporting ECTs to develop confidence, excellent classroom practice, and strong outcomes. Behaviour is good, and leadership is approachable and visible around the school.

The Role

  • Position: Maths ECT
  • Location: Essex
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

As our Maths ECT, you will:

  • Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4.
  • Follow well-structured schemes of work with plenty of shared resources.
  • Receive a reduced teaching timetable and protected ECT time.
  • Work closely with an experienced ECT mentor and Head of Department.
  • Contribute to Maths intervention, revision sessions and clubs as you grow in confidence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently training towards QTS (or recently qualified).
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Maths.
  • Reflective, organised and open to feedback.
  • Committed to building positive relationships and high expectations.
