We are recruiting a Teacher of Business & Economics for a well-regarded independent 11–18 day school in Essex, starting January 2026. This is a permanent role, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with the potential for leadership responsibility for the right candidate.

The Role
Position: Teacher of Business & Economics
Location: Essex
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
Responsibility: Possible for Subject Leadership / Sixth Form Coordination
As our Business & Economics Teacher, you will:
- Teach GCSE Business and A-Level Business and/or Economics.
- Plan high-quality lessons using contemporary business examples and economic data.
- Support students in developing strong analytical, numerical and evaluative skills.
- Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments, including public examinations.
- Contribute to enrichment such as enterprise clubs, competitions, trips and speaker events.
- (If applicable) Lead on schemes of work, assessment or Sixth Form pathways.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Have strong subject knowledge in Business and/or Economics.
- Are organised, reflective and aspirational for their students.
- Are confident teaching exam groups at GCSE and A-Level.
- Are willing to contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities.
