A well-established secondary school in Bedford is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to join their DT faculty from January. This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, organised, and proactive individual who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and supporting students’ technical learning.

Role Overview

You will work closely with the DT teaching team to ensure that workshops, tools, machinery, and resources are fully prepared, well-maintained, and safely operated. The role involves:

• Preparing materials for Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, Engineering and related DT subjects

• Supporting teachers during practical lessons

• Maintaining equipment and machinery to required safety standards

• Ensuring safe storage and handling of tools, components, and consumables

• Organising stock, ordering supplies, and monitoring inventory

• Helping students develop confidence using workshop equipment

This role suits someone with a technical or workshop background who enjoys problem-solving, planning ahead, and contributing to a creative, practical learning environment.
