A supportive and popular mixed secondary school in North Hertfordshire is seeking a passionate Maths ECT to join their department from September.

School Description
The school serves around 1,100 students aged 11–18 and is rated Good by Ofsted, with strong exam results and a well-regarded Sixth Form. The leadership team places a high emphasis on staff wellbeing, workload management and tailored ECT support, including regular mentor meetings and reduced teaching load.

Maths Department Insight
The Maths department is friendly, collaborative and well-resourced, with a mix of experienced practitioners and newer staff. The team uses shared schemes of work, high-quality resources and regular assessment points to track progress and support differentiation.

The Role

  • Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 teaching in the future
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons under guidance from a dedicated mentor
  • Participating in department meetings, training sessions and standardisation activities

Ideal Candidate
A reflective and enthusiastic Maths ECT, keen to learn from experienced colleagues, committed to high expectations and ready to build strong relationships with students.
