A forward-looking primary in Bristol is recruiting a dedicated Year 4 Teacher to start January 2026. The Year 4 Teacher will plan and deliver ambitious sequences across English, mathematics and the wider curriculum, helping pupils develop secure knowledge and reasoning skills. This Year 4 Teacher role will be based in Bristol, with induction and collaborative planning sessions provided ahead of January 2026 to support an effective spring-term start.

The successful Year 4 Teacher will be proactive in using assessment to adapt teaching, lead focused small-group support and contribute to whole-school enrichment. The Year 4 Teacher will work with experienced colleagues in Bristol to refine medium-term plans and ensure consistent progression across the phase.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequenced Year 4 lessons that develop conceptual understanding and fluency.
• Use assessment to inform planning, set targets and deliver timely support.
• Lead small-group teaching and provide constructive feedback to accelerate progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to moderate standards and enhance curriculum coherence.
• Maintain strong communication with families and contribute to school events.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with proven experience in KS2 and confident Year 4 practice.
• Strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management and excellent organisational skills.
• Committed to collaborative working and professional development within Bristol schools.
• Available to begin January 2026 and to be based in Bristol.
