An ambitious and inclusive primary school in Cambridge is seeking a proactive, reflective and emotionally intelligent Year 5 Teacher to join the team from January 2026. The school is looking for a Year 5 Teacher who can raise attainment, deliver engaging lessons and support pupils as they progress through Upper Key Stage 2. The appointed Year 5 Teacher will join a collaborative and encouraging team who work together to secure strong academic and pastoral outcomes. Responsibilities of a Year 5 Teacher
- Lead the academic and pastoral care of pupils in Upper Key Stage 2
- Plan and deliver stimulating, well-structured lessons aligned with the UKS2 curriculum
- Develop pupils’ skills in reading comprehension, extended writing and applied mathematics
- Prepare pupils for the transition into Year 6 through targeted teaching and high expectations
- Monitor academic progress, identify gaps and implement effective intervention strategies
- Maintain strong communication with parents regarding progress and wellbeing
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes resilience, curiosity and independence
