Responsibilities of a Year 5 Teacher

• Lead the academic and pastoral care of pupils in Upper Key Stage 2
• Plan and deliver stimulating, well-structured lessons aligned with the UKS2 curriculum
• Develop pupils’ skills in reading comprehension, extended writing and applied mathematics
• Prepare pupils for the transition into Year 6 through targeted teaching and high expectations
• Monitor academic progress, identify gaps and implement effective intervention strategies
• Maintain strong communication with parents regarding progress and wellbeing
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes resilience, curiosity and independence
