Year 4 Teacher | Southwark
A forward-thinking primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 department from January 2026. This Year 4 Teacher will take responsibility for delivering a broad, challenging curriculum that strengthens pupils’ literacy, numeracy and wider subject knowledge. The successful Year 4 Teacher will work closely with the phase leader and collaborate with colleagues across KS2.

The school in Southwark offers excellent resources, supportive leadership and a strong commitment to staff development. The appointed Year 4 Teacher will participate in planning meetings, assessment moderation and whole-school initiatives. An induction period will take place prior to January 2026, ensuring the Year 4 Teacher is fully prepared for the Spring Term beginning January 2026.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach well-structured Year 4 lessons with clear progression.
- Use assessment to identify learning needs and deliver targeted support.
- Work with TAs to maximise learning across the curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents to ensure strong home–school partnerships.
- Contribute positively to whole-school improvement priorities.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with successful experience in KS2.
- Secure subject knowledge across English, maths and wider curriculum areas.
- Confident classroom practitioner with excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic about joining a collaborative team in Southwark.
- Available to start January 2026.
