What we are looking for:
- QTS with recent KS2 teaching experience, preferably with Year 5 experience
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that challenge and inspire pupils
- High expectations for behaviour, attainment, and personal development
- Strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Collaborative, reflective, and organised approach with a willingness to contribute to whole-school initiatives
- Passion for promoting learning beyond the classroom through creative activities, enrichment, and community engagement
Key responsibilities:
- Teach a Year 5 class full-time, fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
- Track pupil progress effectively and use assessment to inform next steps in learning
- Support and contribute to the wider school curriculum and initiatives, including cross-curricular projects and extra-curricular opportunities
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes wellbeing, confidence, and resilience
- Engage with parents and carers to build strong partnerships supporting pupils’ learning and development
