Wayman Education is recruiting a motivated Year 2 Teacher for a popular primary school in Watford. The incoming Year 2 Teacher will lead sequenced lessons that consolidate reading, writing and number skills, prepare pupils for end-of-KS1 assessments where relevant, and champion a love of learning across the year group. The Year 2 Teacher will be supported by a dynamic staff team and high-quality teaching resources.
The Year 2 Teacher will be expected to plan differentiated learning, deliver targeted booster sessions, and provide detailed records of progress for senior leaders and parents. This post begins January 2026; induction activities will run in the weeks up to January 2026 so the successful Year 2 Teacher can contribute to curriculum planning immediately.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Lead targeted interventions to accelerate pupil progress.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to moderation activities.
- Support transition work and collaborate with parents and colleagues to secure outcomes.
- Contribute to extra-curricular and enrichment activities within the school.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with strong recent experience in KS1.
- Proven track record delivering progress in reading, writing and maths.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire young learners.
- Enthusiastic about professional development and able to start January 2026.
- Willing to work in Watford and engage with the local school community.
