  • Start Date: Maternity Cover commencing January 2026 (expected duration 9-12 months).

The Opportunity & School Profile

This Outstanding academy seeks a proactive technician to cover a period of maternity leave, ensuring the smooth and safe running of the Science curriculum across all three disciplines. Experience with secondary school equipment is essential.

Core Responsibilities & Scope

  • Preparation: Preparing and setting up apparatus, equipment, and materials for complex practical lessons, particularly at GCSE level.
  • Maintenance: Routine checking, calibration, and cleaning of science equipment and maintaining stock levels.
  • H&S: Assisting with the safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover).
  • Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government support staff scale.
  • Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
