Position Details
Intervention Teacher – Birmingham school
Start Date – January 2026
Contract – Permanent / Part-time considered for the Intervention Teacher
The Role
As Intervention Teacher, you will: assess pupils to identify gaps; design and implement targeted intervention programmes; deliver focused small-group teaching; track and report progress; and support transition planning. The Intervention Teacher will provide evidence-based approaches (e.g. precision teaching, structured literacy) and will adapt resources to meet pupil needs. The appointed Intervention Teacher will be expected to begin in January 2026 and to contribute to intervention strategy meetings from January 2026. This role is based in Birmingham and will involve close collaboration with the SENDCo and phase leaders.

Person specification for the Intervention Teacher:
• QTS/PGCE or equivalent with proven experience as an Intervention Teacher.
• Strong knowledge of assessment-for-learning and intervention programmes as an Intervention Teacher.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to start January 2026 in Birmingham.
