Our Client is seeking an English ECT for a supportive and well-organised secondary school in Hertford. The successful ECT will teach KS3 & KS4 English while receiving a comprehensive induction that includes a reduced timetable, weekly mentoring sessions, structured developmental feedback and ongoing CPD tailored to early career teachers.

School Information
This 11–18 mixed school educates around 1,250 pupils and consistently performs above national averages, with strong literacy outcomes and a well-established English curriculum. The department focuses on developing analytical writing, oracy, critical thinking and appreciation of literature from diverse authors. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology, reading platforms and shared teaching resources.

ECTs describe the environment as warm, organised and confidence-building. Leadership is known for being approachable and proactive, offering additional support sessions, well-being check-ins, and a gradual development of classroom responsibilities.
