The successful School Business Manager will manage annual budgeting, produce monthly management accounts, oversee payroll and pensions, and ensure robust procurement and contract management. The School Business Manager will also lead on premises and health & safety, line-manage administrative and finance staff, and provide the Headteacher and governors with clear, actionable financial information.

The Role
As School Business Manager, you will: prepare budgets, monitor spend and report monthly to governors; lead audit preparations and ensure compliance; negotiate supplier contracts and manage cashflow; and support strategic planning. The appointed School Business Manager will be in post from January 2026 and will be expected to support the school’s financial year planning from January 2026. This School Business Manager role is based in Wandsworth and will involve close work with the senior leadership team and local stakeholders in Wandsworth.

Person specification for the School Business Manager:
• Qualified accountant or finance professional with proven experience as a School Business Manager.
• Strong experience of school financial systems, payroll, pensions and procurement as the School Business Manager.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills; able to start January 2026 in Wandsworth.
