A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Staffordshire is seeking a committed and personable Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team from January 2026.

The Role

You will work closely with pastoral staff, Heads of Year and the safeguarding team to:

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality
• Make first-day calls and follow up unexplained absences
• Produce attendance reports for SLT and governors
• Meet with students and families to support improved attendance
• Work with external agencies where persistent absence is a concern
• Contribute to whole-school attendance strategies and interventions

• Previous attendance, pastoral or admin experience
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Confident using MIS systems (training available)
