Attendance Officer – Staffordshire – January 2026
A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Staffordshire is seeking a committed and personable Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team from January 2026.
The Role
You will work closely with pastoral staff, Heads of Year and the safeguarding team to:
- Monitor daily attendance and punctuality
- Make first-day calls and follow up unexplained absences
- Produce attendance reports for SLT and governors
- Meet with students and families to support improved attendance
- Work with external agencies where persistent absence is a concern
- Contribute to whole-school attendance strategies and interventions

About You
- Previous attendance, pastoral or admin experience
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confident using MIS systems (training available)
