Design & Technology Teacher – Independent School – Suffolk
A prestigious Independent School in Suffolk is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join their well-established DT department for an immediate start. This is an exciting role for a teacher who enjoys innovation, hands-on learning, and guiding students through the full creative process from conceptualisation to manufacture.
About the Role
You will teach DT across KS3–KS5, delivering a curriculum that emphasises:
Creativity and problem-solving
Resistant materials, engineering principles, and design modelling
CAD/CAM, 3D printing, CNC machinery and prototyping
Technical drawing, product development and iterative design
GCSE and A-Level coursework guidance
The DT department is exceptionally well-resourced, offering:
A modern workshop with full safety compliance
Dedicated CAD labs with industry-standard software
3D printers, laser cutters and CNC tools
Material preparation areas and technician support
Exhibition spaces for celebrating student projects
Students are ambitious, engaged, and thrive on practical challenge. DT enjoys high exam results and strong uptake in Sixth Form, including several who progress to engineering, architecture, and product design pathways.
