A vibrant academy in Newham is seeking a dedicated DT Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology/Catering to manage and deliver the curriculum from January 2026.

  • DT Teacher (Food Tech Specialist) required from January 2026
  • Newham-based academy with a modern, fully equipped food room.
  • Ideal for a teacher committed to teaching practical culinary skills, food science, and professional catering standards at Key Stage 4.

You will teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition or BTEC Catering). The role involves managing the food budget, maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, and developing students' practical exam techniques.

Experience and Qualifications

    • QTS and a degree in Food Technology, Catering, or Home Economics.
    • Proven experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition is essential.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of current food science and safety regulations.
    • Commitment to running healthy eating or baking clubs.
