Finance Officer – Staffordshire – January 2026
A well-established secondary school in Staffordshire is seeking a diligent and proactive Finance Officer to join its central operations team from January 2026.
The Role
You’ll support the school’s finance function through accurate record-keeping, processing payments and assisting with budgeting and reporting. You’ll work closely with the School Business Manager to ensure financial compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing purchase orders, invoices and payments
- Monitoring departmental budgets and spending
- Reconciling accounts and preparing monthly reports
- Assisting with payroll and petty cash
- Supporting audits and financial returns as required
About You
- Experience in a finance or accounts role (school experience desirable)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with finance software (e.g. PS Financials, Sage, or SIMS FMS)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
