A hardworking Lambeth primary is seeking a warm, ambitious Year 2 Teacher to join the KS1 team from January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be involved in pre-term planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be teaching in class from January 2026. We want a Year 2 Teacher who secures rapid progress in reading, writing and maths while nurturing curiosity and resilience.

What you’ll do
As the Year 2 Teacher, you will deliver systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 2 Teacher, plan sequenced writing units as the Year 2 Teacher, and teach rigorous maths that builds number sense as the Year 2 Teacher. You will run timely interventions as the Year 2 Teacher, moderate standards across the phase as the Year 2 Teacher, and communicate progress with parents as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026 and will implement assessment cycles beginning January 2026.

Person specification
We seek a Year 2 Teacher with QTS/PGCE (or equivalent), secure KS1 knowledge, confident phonics delivery and calm behaviour management. The Year 2 Teacher must be reflective, collaborative and able to start planning before January 2026 and teach from January 2026. Experience with assessment moderation and parental partnership is desirable for the Year 2 Teacher.
