Year 5 Teacher - Richmond
A forward-thinking Richmond primary is seeking an experienced and inspirational Year 5 Teacher to lead an Upper Key Stage 2 class from January 2026. The successful Year 5 Teacher will take part in phase planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be teaching from January 2026. This Year 5 Teacher role requires someone who can balance ambitious curriculum goals with excellent classroom relationships - you will be the Year 5 Teacher who plans memorable topics, leads deep maths sequences and prepares pupils for a confident move into Year 6.

Year 5 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 5 Teacher will plan and deliver rigorous English and mathematics lessons as the Year 5 Teacher; lead enquiry and science investigations as the Year 5 Teacher; run targeted small-group interventions as the Year 5 Teacher; and prepare transition materials for Year 6 as the Year 5 Teacher. The Year 5 Teacher will moderate standards with colleagues, present progress data at phase meetings and engage with families — all activities the Year 5 Teacher will begin preparing before January 2026 and continue after January 2026.
Year 5 Teacher Requirements
We are looking for a Year 5 Teacher with QTS/PGCE (or equivalent), strong KS2 experience and a proven record of securing pupil progress. The Year 5 Teacher should have excellent behaviour strategies and the ability to plan ambitious, knowledge-rich sequences. Availability for pre-term planning prior to January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to commence teaching from January 2026 is essential for the Year 5 Teacher.
