An academically rigorous Grammar school in Preston requires a passionate Finance Manager to join their dedicated Finance team. This is a Full-Time position starting ASAP/January.

About the Role:

As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping
• Utilise accounting software Sage for efficient financial management.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysing variances to inform strategic planning
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial practices align with organisational goals
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices within the industry
• Manage the year end closure process
• Oversee the quarterly VAT returns

Experience:

• Proficient in accounting software including Sage
• Strong understanding of financial services and financial management principles
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial accounting standards
• Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
