Year 1 Teacher - Manchester
A well-regarded Manchester primary is seeking a creative, organised Year 1 Teacher to lead a lively Year 1 class from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to collaborative planning before January 2026, will attend a supported induction in January 2026, and will be in-class teaching from January 2026. This Year 1 Teacher role suits someone who loves phonics, guided reading and practical maths and who will model excellent Early Years → KS1 transition practice as the Year 1 Teacher.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 1 Teacher will: plan and deliver systematic phonics sessions as the Year 1 Teacher; lead guided reading and shared writing as the Year 1 Teacher; design practical maths lessons and run timely interventions as the Year 1 Teacher; assess progress, communicate outcomes to families and lead transition work as the Year 1 Teacher. The Year 1 Teacher will prepare resources ahead of January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
We are seeking a Year 1 Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), secure KS1 practice and confident phonics delivery. The Year 1 Teacher should be reflective, organised and able to build positive relationships. Availability for pre-term planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and a full-time start in January 2026 is essential for the Year 1 Teacher.
