A successful secondary school in Lichfield is seeking an organised and enthusiastic Science Technician to join its busy Science department from January 2026.

The Role
You’ll play a key part in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by preparing, maintaining and organising practical resources across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The role also involves supporting experiments in class, ensuring equipment is safe and well-maintained, and helping to develop new practical activities for lessons.

The Department
The Science department is a friendly, professional and collaborative team, with strong links across all key stages. You’ll be supported by experienced staff and given opportunities to develop your technical skills through in-house training.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and setting up apparatus and materials for practical lessons.
• Maintaining lab stock and ensuring safe storage and disposal of chemicals.
• Supporting teachers during experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintaining equipment and reporting faults promptly.
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures (CLEAPSS guidance).

What You’ll Bring

• Relevant laboratory or technician experience (school or industrial).
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Awareness of health and safety protocols.
