An ambitious and innovative 11–18 school in Oxford is seeking a Design & Technology ECT to join their Technology Faculty from January 2026.
The school promotes creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking through a forward-looking curriculum that prepares students for modern careers in design, engineering, and sustainability.
About the Role
This full-time, permanent position involves teaching Design & Technology across KS3–KS5, with opportunities to specialise in Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering. You’ll join a passionate team that values hands-on learning and cross-curricular collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging, practical DT lessons that build innovation and technical skill
• Guide students through GCSE and A-Level coursework
• Lead or assist with clubs such as Robotics or Eco-Design
• Integrate sustainability and digital design principles into the curriculum
ECT Support and Development:
• Structured two-year induction with experienced mentors
• Weekly CPD and access to design-focused training
• Collaboration across STEM and creative departments
• Supportive leadership team encouraging new ideas
Facilities and Resources:
• State-of-the-art workshops with 3D printers, CNC routers, and CAD/CAM tools
• Dedicated technician support and small class sizes
Experience and Qualifications:
• PGCE with QTS (or pending) in DT, Engineering, or related field
• Excellent practical and organisational skills
• Commitment to inspiring innovation and craftsmanship
