History Teacher – Cheshire – January 2026
A high-performing 11–18 secondary school in Cheshire is seeking a passionate Teacher of History to join its Humanities department from January 2026.
The school is rated Good with Outstanding features, and History is one of its most popular subjects at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to think critically, explore diverse perspectives and develop a deep understanding of the past and its relevance to the modern world.
The Role
You’ll teach History across KS3–KS5, contributing to curriculum planning and enrichment. Lessons are enquiry-based and analytical, using source work, debate and discussion to help students develop historical reasoning and argument.
The Department
The Humanities faculty is highly collaborative, with teachers sharing resources and assessment approaches. The department runs regular educational visits — from local museums to international trips — and celebrates student achievement through History Society events.
About You
- QTS or equivalent qualification in History or Humanities.
- Strong subject knowledge and clear, structured teaching style.
- Passion for encouraging curiosity and independent thought.
