Design & Technology Teacher – Independent School in Gloucester

About the School
A thriving independent day and boarding school in Gloucester is seeking an innovative Design & Technology Teacher to join their Technology Faculty from January 2026. The school educates 900 students aged 11–18 and is renowned for its forward-thinking approach to education, excellent pastoral systems, and commitment to creativity and sustainability.

The DT Department is central to the school’s STEM provision, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to help students design, prototype, and build with purpose. Student projects have been recognised nationally in Young Engineer and Design Ventura competitions.

About the Role
This full-time, permanent position involves teaching Design & Technology across KS3–KS5, with the option to specialise in Product Design or Engineering. The successful teacher will deliver a broad curriculum that fosters problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking, supporting students as they progress through GCSE and A-Level courses.

Facilities include 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, CAD/CAM systems, and a suite of digital design tools. Collaboration between DT, Science, and Art departments allows students to work on interdisciplinary projects exploring innovation and sustainability.

Experience and Qualifications
• QTS/PGCE and degree in DT, Engineering, or Product Design
• Strong technical, design, and CAD skills
