About the Independent School & the Year 2 Teacher role
This Independent School provides focused KS1 provision, small classes and excellent adult support—perfect for a Year 2 Teacher who values close professional collaboration. The Year 2 Teacher will lead daily phonics, guided reading and progressive maths sequences, using targeted formative assessment to accelerate learning. The Year 2 Teacher will start collaborative planning sessions ahead of January 2026, attend the induction programme in January 2026, and lead their class from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher. The Independent School offers bespoke CPD and a mentor for each Year 2 Teacher starting January 2026.

Year 2 Teacher — responsibilities & benefits
• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons as the Year 2 Teacher, with a focus on early reading and number fluency.
• Use assessment as the Year 2 Teacher to personalise learning and lead small-group interventions.
• Engage parents and contribute to enrichment and transition planning as the Year 2 Teacher.

Candidate profile — Year 2 Teacher
We seek a Year 2 Teacher with QTS/EYTS or equivalent, proven KS1 experience and strong phonics practice. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be ready to engage in pre-term planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 on a Full-Time contract.
