A large, high-performing 11–18 comprehensive in Shropshire is seeking an ambitious Teacher of English to join its thriving faculty from January 2026.
The school is rated Good by Ofsted, with “Outstanding” features in leadership and personal development. It is known for combining traditional values with a forward-looking approach to education. Students are articulate, motivated and respectful, and the English department plays a central role in promoting literacy and confidence across the school.
The Department
The English team is a creative, collaborative and well-established group of teachers who share a genuine love of literature and language. The department enjoys excellent facilities; bright classrooms centred around a large, purpose-built library with reading corners, author displays and a Sixth Form study zone. Lessons are lively and discussion-based, encouraging students to think critically, explore context and make personal connections to the texts they study.
