History Teacher – Cheshire (Independent School) – January 2026
A respected independent day and boarding school in Cheshire is seeking a passionate Teacher of History to join its Humanities faculty from January 2026.
This all-through independent school educates pupils aged 3 to 18 and combines academic excellence with a genuine focus on individual development. The History department enjoys strong results and student engagement across all key stages, with many pupils continuing to study History, Politics or International Relations at university.
The school’s Humanities Centre includes interactive classrooms, a research archive, and access to online historical databases. Students benefit from trips to local and international sites of interest, from castles and cathedrals to World War I battlefields and European parliaments.
The faculty also runs a “Current Affairs Forum” and History Society, encouraging debate and student-led research.
You’ll bring:
- QTS or equivalent qualification and strong subject background
- A love of history and enthusiasm for historical debate
- Confidence teaching GCSE and A-Level
- Commitment to supporting wider academic life
