Year 1 Teacher – Good School – Lambeth – January 2026 Start

A warm, community-focused Good primary in Lambeth is seeking a confident and creative Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. This Full-Time Year 1 Teacher vacancy begins January 2026, with induction, handover and planning sessions in the weeks before January 2026, so the appointed Year 1 Teacher is classroom-ready from January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will work within a supportive staff team and benefit from targeted CPD and structured mentoring as a Full-Time member of staff.

The role — what the Year 1 Teacher will do
The Year 1 Teacher will plan and deliver systematic phonics, guided reading, early writing and practical maths sessions. The Year 1 Teacher will assess progress, run small-group interventions and prepare clear reports for families. As the Year 1 Teacher, you will lead creative topic work, support transitions from Reception and contribute to whole-school life. The Year 1 Teacher will begin planning duties before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.

Year 1 Teacher — person specification
We seek a Year 1 Teacher with QTS, strong KS1 experience and an inclusive classroom approach. The ideal Year 1 Teacher is passionate about phonics, formative assessment and family engagement. This Year 1 Teacher will have excellent behaviour management and a love of creative pedagogy.

Contract & start
This is a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher post starting January 2026. Induction will be provided in January 2026 and in the weeks leading to January 2026. The Full-Time Year 1 Teacher will receive ongoing mentoring and CPD beyond January 2026.
