A friendly Good primary school in Merton is recruiting a reflective Year 1 Teacher on a Part-Time basis from January 2026. This Part-Time Year 1 Teacher role is perfect for a practitioner who wants to maintain work-life balance while delivering high-quality KS1 teaching. The successful Year 1 Teacher will begin induction in early January 2026, attend planning sessions prior to January 2026, and teach from January 2026 on a Part-Time timetable.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
• The Year 1 Teacher will plan and deliver systematic phonics, daily guided reading and engaging writing lessons as the Year 1 Teacher.
• The Year 1 Teacher will assess children’s progress and use targeted interventions to accelerate learning.
• The Year 1 Teacher will liaise with parents and participate in phase planning and training scheduled in January 2026. Despite being a Part-Time Year 1 Teacher, you will attend key meetings and CPD in January 2026 so that your practice is fully aligned with the phase.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent KS1 experience as a Year 1 Teacher.
• Excellent phonics knowledge and experience of early maths strategies as a Year 1 Teacher.
• A calm, organised Year 1 Teacher who is committed to inclusive practice.
