Head of Maths – Lead Further Maths Excellence and Drive Top University STEM Preparation – London (Independent)

A highly academic, fee-paying independent day school in Central London is seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead their prestigious and rigorous department from January 2026.

This leadership role involves setting the strategic direction for Mathematics, teaching Further Maths to high-ability students, and running the Oxbridge preparation programme (including STEP/MAT) for STEM applicants. You will lead a large team, ensuring exceptionally rigorous academic standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mathematics (First-Class or Masters from a leading university is highly desirable).
  • Proven experience leading an academic subject and securing top results at A-Level Further Maths.
  • Extensive experience with the STEP/MAT preparation process.
  • Capacity for inspiring leadership and effective academic mentorship.
