Design Technology Teacher – Inspire digital design and visual communication – Newham

A highly ambitious secondary school in Newham is seeking a Design and Technology Teacher to join their creative department from January 2026.

  • DT Teacher (Graphics Specialist) required from January 2026
  • Newham-based comprehensive with excellent ICT suites and DT workshops
  • Ideal for a specialist who can bridge aesthetic design with technical drawing and manufacture

The successful applicant will teach Graphics and Resistant Materials at KS3 and lead the GCSE Design Technology (Graphics) pathway. The role involves teaching technical drawing, digital rendering (Adobe Suite/SketchUp), and managing the use of laser cutters and vinyl plotters.

Experience and Qualifications

  • QTS and a specialism in Design Technology (Graphics, Product Design, or Architecture)
  • Proven ability to teach digital design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp)
  • Experience in delivering the GCSE D&T curriculum and managing coursework
  • Strong focus on health and safety in a practical environment
