The School Context
This is a prestigious independent day school for girls aged 2½ to 18, located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in a leafy area of Birmingham. The school combines a rich heritage with a forward-looking approach to learning. It is known for strong examination results, excellent pastoral support, and a vibrant co-curricular life.
In recent years, students have consistently outperformed expectations: more than 70 % of senior pupils achieve top grades (7-9 / A*/A) in GCSE examinations, and the school regularly reports high levels of attainment and progress in the Sixth Form. The senior school classroom programme includes over 50 co-curricular clubs per term, and many pupils engage in residential trips, external excursions and global learning experiences.
The geography / humanities faculty is well-resourced and respected, with enthusiastic colleagues, digital mapping resources, and a strong tradition of cross-curricular links (e.g. environmental science, global citizenship, fieldwork projects). The school encourages innovation, curriculum enrichment, and partnership with external agencies to bring geography alive beyond the textbook.
What’s on Offer
- A competitive salary package reflecting the prestige and demands of independent education
- Access to professional development, leadership pathways, and collaborative networks within the school
- Modern teaching facilities, departmental resources, and digital learning tools
- A supportive environment where teacher voice is valued and intellectual ambition is encouraged
- The opportunity to contribute to curriculum design, fieldwork programmes and enrichment initiatives
