The Role in More Detail
You will plan, teach and assess Geography lessons across all ability levels, encouraging critical thinking, map skills, fieldwork and global perspectives. You will guide students through GCSE and A-Level qualifications where applicable, supporting independent research, investigation and spatial analysis. Collaboration is central: the department shares resources, co-plans fieldwork, and continually refines schemes of work using feedback and evidence of impact.
Beyond the classroom, you may lead or co-lead field trips (local, national or international), coordinate city studies or environmental projects, support eco-schools initiatives, or embed real-world geography in school life. Your voice will be valued in curriculum planning, departmental reviews, and cross-school initiatives.
