English Teacher – Shropshire – January 2026
About the Role
A successful secondary school in the Shropshire area is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join its team from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role, teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You will join a collaborative English department that values creativity, rigour, and strong communication. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of language and literature, while helping students develop confidence in reading, writing, and analytical thinking. There are opportunities to contribute to enrichment through activities such as writing competitions, debating, theatre visits, and reading clubs.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS, PGCE, or equivalent qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge and experience teaching GCSE English
- Is creative, organised, and committed to achieving high standards
- Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to a positive staff culture
- Has the legal right to work in the UK
Experience supporting whole-school literacy or leading extra-curricular activities would be an advantage.
