English Teacher - Independent Boys' School in Birmingham
We are excited to partner with a distinguished independent boys’ day school in Birmingham, seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher from January. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE and A-Level English & Literature.
About the Role
You will teach literature and language across multiple year groups, fostering deep critical thinking, textual insight, and confidence in writing. The school encourages teachers to lead extension projects, writing workshops, debating societies, and cross-curricular initiatives involving History, Drama, and Philosophy. English classrooms are well resourced, and students have access to an extensive on-site library, research facilities, and collaborative study spaces.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge and passion for English & Literature
- Can teach GCSE and/or A-Level (or is keen to develop this)
- Is creative, reflective, and driven to help students excel
- Has the legal right to work in the UK
